Attorney Manuel L. Dobrinsky and Attorney Andrew Mitchell Moss of Kutner, Rubinoff & Moss of Coconut Grove, were instrumental in helping Marcy Romeo reach a settlement of $1.2 million from the Broward Sheriff’s Office. Marcy Romeo is the ex-wife of Douglas Bates, who was a partner of disgraced Fort Lauderdale attorney Scott Rothstein who allegedly arranged the false arrest of her in 2009 for trumped-up drug charges as requested by Mr. Bates. Ms. Romeo claimed that she was handcuffed, strip-searched and threatened by Broward County officers during her false arrest. After the defense saw the plaintiff’s case, the defense decided to settle.
