MEET DAN

A founding partner of Dolan Dobrinsky Rosenblum Bluestein, LLP, Daniel D. “Dan” Dolan is a Miami personal injury lawyer and civil trial attorney with 30 years of experience. After starting his career representing doctors and corporations, for more than two decades his practice has focused on representing individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries and families who have lost loved ones due to preventable deaths. His practice includes catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases involving motor vehicle and commercial trucking accidents, medical malpractice and hospital negligence, prescription drug errors, and defective products.

Dan served as the 2025 President of the Miami Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), one of the most respected distinctions in the trial bar. ABOTA is an invitation-only national organization of experienced plaintiff and defense civil trial lawyers and judges dedicated to preserving the civil jury trial and promoting professionalism, integrity and civility. During his presidency, Dan worked to advance trial advocacy, judicial independence and civics education while strengthening ABOTA’s relationship with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. Among his initiatives was helping to develop best practices for compliance with the 2025 Florida Supreme Court’s Civil Case Management Pretrial Procedures and reaffirming the organization’s commitment to having ABOTA lawyers serve pro bono as Guardians Ad Litem in cases involving settlements for minors.

His leadership within Florida’s legal and trial community spans decades. Dan previously served as President of the Dade County Trial Lawyers Association, the largest county-based trial lawyer organization in Florida and has held leadership roles with the Florida Justice Association. He has lectured on trial advocacy and litigation tactics for organizations including the American Bar Association, Florida Justice Association, Dade County Trial Lawyers Association and Dade County Bar Association, as well as at law schools.

Dan’s impact as a lawyer is perhaps best illustrated by cases in which the result extended beyond monetary recovery for an individual client. He served as lead counsel representing Miami-Dade County firefighter Lt. Kevin McCrea, who suffered catastrophic burns when a propane-fed training device suddenly ignited. The complex products liability litigation lasted more than eight years and included extensive discovery battles, multiple appellate proceedings and landmark Daubert hearings. The case ultimately resulted not only in a confidential settlement for McCrea, but in the multinational manufacturer redesigning the training device, revising its product manual and increasing hands-on training to prevent similar accidents.

This philosophy has characterized Dan’s career. Among the accomplishments he considers most meaningful are securing experimental treatment for a quadriplegic that helped her take her first steps, uncovering a pharmacy fulfillment problem that was corrected to prevent future improper dosing, and securing funding for a foundation honoring a deceased teenager that provides safety equipment to help prevent brain and spinal cord injuries.

Dan has also achieved significant results in commercial transportation and wrongful death litigation. In 2023, he and his team represented the estate of 28-year-old Gabrielle Shipe, who was killed when a commercial tractor-trailer drove onto a Miami sidewalk and struck her bicycle. The case provided Dan an opportunity to publicly advocate for stronger commercial trucking safety standards and measures designed to prevent similar tragedies on Florida’s roadways.

His accomplishments have earned sustained peer recognition for two decades. Dan was selected as the 2024 Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” for Product Liability Litigation, Plaintiffs in Miami.  He has consistently been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® in Medical Malpractice Law, Personal Injury Litigation and Product Liability Litigation. He was named a Daily Business Review Florida Legal Awards “Distinguished Leader” in 2021 and has repeatedly been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers®, earning “Top 100” recognition 10 times.  Most recently, he was again named a Top-Rated Personal Injury Attorney and selected to the Top 100: 2026 Miami Super Lawyers list.

A proud alumnus of St. Thomas University College of Law, Dan has served on the University’s Board of Trustees, Chair of the College of Law ‘s Board of Advisors and led two national search committees for the law school Dean. He also dedicated the Ken Feldman Center for Student Affairs through what was, at the time, the largest one-time donation by an alumnus in the law school’s 42-year history.
