In the case of Merino v. Philip Morris, Rosenblum’s effective and aggressive legal representation resulted in a $14.5 million dollar verdict achieving the 15th largest verdict in Florida overall and the 4th largest ‘Products Liability’ verdict.
Merino sued Philip Morris, claiming she was misled by the tobacco giant’s tactics to conceal the dangers of smoking, which led to head and neck cancer and the removal of her jaw, tongue and teeth in her late 40s.
In closing arguments, Randy Rosenblum tells jurors that medical evidence proves Merino’s mouth cancer was caused by her three-decade smoking history rather than HPV, citing expert testimony.
